James Drake is a Principal Planner with the Sacramento Regional Transit District. James began his career at Sac RT as a temp in the Facilities Department and securedo a permanent assistant planner position in 2006. James has served as the principal analyst on several major service change projects, including the district’s 20 percent service reductions in 2010, which were the largest single service change since 1989, as well as the Sac RT Forward network restructuring project in 2019. James holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of California, Davis, and in 2010, James secured FTA certification for a custom-built APC ridership database. James is a former railroad museum volunteer and enjoys reading about history, law, business, and economics.
